Now, I know I'm a lucky girl. My hair is naturally curly and thick. I don't have to worry about things that other friends do and I was never plagued with a perm gone bad. If I want to wear my hair straight then I get it blown out, and if I don't I leave it be. Sure, I have my own problems in the hair department but it could be worse so I'm not complaining by any means.
Well, I've finally done it. I have finally done something about my hair. It had grown too long and I've been bored with it for an even longer time. It was a great length for my wedding, but that was a year and 8 months ago. And I've only had it cut once since then. Once! Embarrassing. *shaking head* I was able to change that while at the same time doing something else I've been wanting to do for a long time.
On Saturday morning I drove to the shop where my friend works and had it cut. After all this build up you're probably thinking I did something drastic, but I didn't. It's drastic for me, but that isn't saying much. I'll let the pictures and captions tell it from here...
Here I am as I first arrived at Cutters in La Crescenta. When you pull my hair straight it is longer than it looks in this picture. Scuze the fro-y-ness...this is sans product and after a bit of wind blown action from the windows being down on the way.
In the chair after my friend wet the mop down. I'm getting a little nervous at this point.
It's done! She cut off 11 inches of hair and it's all in that crazy pony tail I'm holding.
Ta-da! All done. She cut what was left of my hair to even it out and blow dried it straight for me.
The inevitable self-portraits.
Once the pony tail dries completely it'll be off in the mail to Locks of Love. Hopefully it'll help make some little girl happy one day.
But before it goes, Lil' Man thought it'd be funny to try it on.
Today I washed my hair to get the full effect while it was in its natural state. I kind of like it. It'll take a little getting used to, but I think I like it. So far Hubbs and Nina have given it a thumbs up and they would tell me the truth if it was horrible. So far, so good. :)

SO cute! It's looks great both curly and straight! That's a hysterical pic of Lil' Man with your hair on top of his head :)
i love it! nice and lighter for summer. yay for donating the hair, too.
i love lil man's wig. ;)
You look extra gorgeous with your hair all blown straight! I'm laughing so hard at your lil man's photo. You still look so cute with your hair in its natural state :) Definitely thumbs up!
Ohhhhhh, I LOVE it!!!
HOT!
I am cracking up at Li'l Man with your hair on.
GORGEOUS! And your hair is straight up STUNNING straight (and still quite marvelous curly, of course).
And Lil' Man's pic is freakin' hilarious. :)
It looks really glamorous. I love it. I have been contemplating cutting my hair, too. I grew it out for my wedding and now it is simply a pin in the ass. I wanted donate it Locks of Love but they said it wasn't quite long enough. I have Puerto Rican hair so it is really super thick and takes forever and a day to blow out by myself. Argh. I'm trying to hold out just a little bit longer, but the hot weather isn't helping. To top off this hair deillemma, I have a heart-shaped face and new chubby waste so my stylist told me I can't go too short or I'll look even fatter. Your hair looks great blown out or straight. New haircuts are so fun!!
The shorter hair looks great! Very pretty straight and curly!
It looks fantastic! That is such a flattering length for you and is probably so much more manageable.
OMG!! I love it! It is so beautiful on you, straight or curly - though honestly, I prefer curly! So great for summer.
