He's published! ;)
After a thorough explanation of every single sheet of paper in his Portfolio, we moved on to the posted work displayed on the walls. He had some solo pieces along with collaborative work. I'll spare you the pictures of everything.
I'd like to note that the Mardi Gras mask is up right next to (yellow on the right) the girl he's had a crush on for the better half of the second semester of school. He happily declared that he gave Crush Girl "two hugs today and she didn't even mind" while we were in the car before arriving. Yeah, he probably won't see her again after school is over in two weeks but he was happy for the progress. Crush Girl had turned him down just a few weeks ago when he asked her to "go out with him". Funny...when Hubbs asked him where they would go if she said yes he said, "I don't know. I didn't really think about that. It's just something you say when you like a girl." Ha!
It was a quick visit to the school, but a bright spot non the less. While we were there the teacher told us what a great job he's been doing lately. She said he's been listening, is all caught up on his work, and is actually having fun these days. Wow! What a breath of fresh air. This year has been a struggle with Lil Man, as some of you know, so this was definitely music to my mom ears. Too bad it couldn't have kicked in sooner, but I'm happy. Let's cross our fingers that it'll continue on into Jr. High in a couple months!

When's his birthday? My brother was born in September, so he was always the youngest in his class. My parents found it took him a while each year to get into the swing of things - like Little Man. By the end of the year he was the perfect student.

love the crush. i asked the teen what it means when someone asks you to "go out" too, and all she could muster up was "well, that means you're boyfriend and girlfriend." but that was it. oy.
